About the event
What’s it like to harvest?
Have you ever wanted to stroll down the rows of a vineyard and pick glorious clusters of grapes while collecting them in your bucket? That’s exactly what it’s like!
Where do I go?
The vineyard is located in Shakopee, but doesn't have its own address. To get there, type the Cross of Peace Lutheran Church address into your GPS:
1506 Wood Duck Trail
Shakopee, MN 55379
Then, FOLLOW THE SIGNS to the vineyard. From Wood Duck Trail, turn right onto Hohenstein Drive. Continue straight on the winding road labeled PRIVATE. You will see a small barn surrounded by fruit trees and grape vines. Look for the signs directing you where to park!
What do I wear?
Close-toed shoes that are waterproof would be preferred. Please dress for the weather, as we will be outside all day. Bring a hat, rain jacket, and change of socks if desired.
What do I bring?
Please bring a water bottle with you. Lunch will be provided! Sunscreen and bug spray are recommended.
What happens afterward?
All volunteers will get a coupon for a free beverage at our winery tasting room in Jordan, and you're invited to head to the winery after picking grapes to redeem your coupon. You'll be some of our first guests at the winery, and will be able to talk to the winemakers and have a behind-the-scenes look at how we make our wines and ciders. Additional wine and food will be available for purchase.
